WINDSOR, ONTARIO – (August 30, 2017) – Greco Aluminum Railings (Greco), a leading manufacturer of high-quality engineered railing and safety systems for multi-family and commercial structures in the United States and Canada, is pleased to announce that it will engineer and supply the glass railings and a special architectural design feature at Toronto’s newest luxury residential towers, the Eau du Soleil Condos. The condos are a project of the international developer Empire Communities.
Renowned Zeidler Partnership Architects and Richmond Architects, designed the towers of Eau du Soleil, creating a cruise ship inspired design as a nod to the project’s waterside location on the shores of Lake Ontario. The 46 story Water Tower will be connected to the 66 story Sky Tower with a dramatic podium creating panoramic views and incomparable amenities as part of a unique waterside lifestyle.
Rising Above Challenges – Because each unit offers residents an outdoor experience with individual balconies, designing balcony railings was a critical design and engineering challenge. Greco worked with the project architects in creating a glass and panel railing system that will provide unobtrusive views while offering the highest level of safety. More than 51,000 linear feet of Greco railings were engineered and specified for the two towers. Greco will also fabricate and install a unique architectural feature called a “swoosh.” This unique metal feature will cascade down the façade of each of the two towers, dipping onto the podium level.
