TEK Tower, a 44-story residential high-rise in downtown Kitchener’s Innovation District in Ontario, Canada, was designed to support modern city living. As the tallest residential development in Kitchener, the tower brings a strong vertical presence to the city’s skyline, with balconies, amenity areas, and shared spaces playing a major role in how residents experience the building.
For this project, Greco supplied various systems, including its high-profile glass railing systems, Juliette balconies, and divider structures installed throughout the building. These systems help maintain open views while meeting the safety and design needs of a large-scale residential tower.
Greco Systems Working Together Across Residential and Amenity Spaces
Greco supplied approximately 16,500 linear feet of top-and side-mounted glass railing systems for the TEK Tower project, along with approximately 70 linear feet of Juliette balconies and 2,052 linear feet of divider systems. Installed throughout residential units, amenity spaces, and shared-use areas, these products created a coordinated and effective railing package for one of Kitchener’s most prominent residential developments.
Designed for high-rise residential applications, the installed systems allowed for extended runs of glass railing with fewer visual interruptions across balconies and common areas. The combination of railing, balcony, and divider systems also helped the project team maintain design continuity and safety elements while accommodating varied installation conditions throughout the building.
Maintaining Safety Standards without Sacrificing Design
At TEK Tower, the installed systems supported critical occupant safety while preserving open views and clean glass lines across balconies and common areas.
Greco’s minimal-profile design allowed the glass railings, Juliette balconies, and divider systems to work together throughout the tower without blocking views or adding unnecessary visual weight. For residents, that means greater visibility from private balconies and shared amenity areas, while the building maintains the clean architectural lines intended by the design team.

Supporting High-Rise Performance Over Time
Installing railing systems across a 44-story residential tower requires high-quality materials capable of performing consistently across many floors and exterior conditions. At TEK Tower, Greco systems were installed throughout balconies, amenity spaces, and shared-use areas exposed to routine use, cleaning, and changing weather conditions.
The selected systems were designed for durability in a high-rise residential environment while maintaining a consistent appearance across the building. That combination of performance and visual consistency is especially important on tall residential projects, where railing systems are both a safety component and a highly visible architectural feature.
